The bigger question is: Where is your money going?
So often we find ourselves rushing to spend the money we make. “Oh, we have to buy this. Oh I want to buy that, but this bill is due.”
In reality, we need to take a step back, leave the money where it is, and formulate a strategic plan as to where it should go first.
A lot of us don’t look past our 30 days, but we need to really start making a plan.
As estheticians we tend to get discouraged because we don’t know how to make money and manage it.
Retail is HUGE.
Your job as an esthetician is to be comfortable enough to sell the retail to your client.
This becomes easier when you realize that retail is what is actually going to keep your clients coming back.
Half of your sale is actually having the retail on the shelf.
If half (or more) of your monthly income isn’t coming from retail sales, how are you surviving?
If you don’t pay yourself regularly, but instead take a draw from your business account you’ll inevitably feel guilty and stressed.
Continuously borrowing money from your business only to work hard to put it back is stressful.
The stress of not paying yourself bleeds over into other parts of your day.
It becomes blatant and your clients will see that stress.
Paying yourself can start off slowly. Even if it’s $50, $100, $250.
No matter how small you start off, you will soon see yourself collecting money!
Breakdown your finances, and see what you need to make in order to survive. Do this for one year, and then re-evaluate.
Paying yourself and setting yourself a part is how you build your empire.
When you have something that is truly unique and sets you apart- people will come.
Setting yourself apart and perfecting your craft is what’s going to separate you from the rest.
Consistency, retail sales, and providing a unique service is how your business will survive.
These things all take time, effort, and knowing how to properly invest into your business.
