Let’s chat about income.

First I would like to say that if you don’t have a financial planner, book keeper, or taxpayer those are always good people to reference to. I am just going to be talking based on my personal experiences and how we I get income.

A lot of estheticians, including myself when I first started my career, take cash draws from there business. That means taking cash here and there instead of regularly paying yourself.

Anytime you withdraw money from your business checking account without putting it back it it counts as a personal withdrawal.

Even if you take money in order to make change it looks like a withdrawal from the book keeper’s perspective.

It’s good to be cognizant of how much you are withdrawing from your business account; whether that be using your ATM card, writing a check, or withdrawing money from the bank.

Those of you estheticians who are taking a huge draw, meaning more than $20,000 a year out for yourself, then it’s time for you to get on payroll.

When you’re on payroll it’s almost easier, because your money is already taxed for social security and disability.

So all of the stuff put into paying your taxes should be included in your cost per service.

You could really start giving yourself paychecks from the beginning.

In the end it was great because I could show my own personal income, versus the business’ income.

If you’re not budgeting; you don’t know how much you make a month,or how much you get tipped a month – let’s start there.

Once you know your budget you can provide yourself with a steady flow of income.

With that said, making money comes down to communicating.

If you want to make money you have to communicate.

Being consistent with your communication with your clientele, or even potential clientele, has to happen daily.

The communication has to be clear, you don’t want to confuse your clients.

Be clear on the services you provide and where you are consistently.

Also take a look at what some other extremely successful people are doing. You will see a pattern of communication.

Good communication doesn’t just let people know what services you provide, it sells them on you as a brand.
